Total dependence on God
Yes, my soul, trust in God! For from him comes my hope. He is my rock and my salvation. My high retreat: I shall not be moved. On God rest my salvation and my glory. The rock of my strength, my refuge, is in God. At all times, peoples, trust in him, pour out your hearts in his presence! God is our refuge.
Yes, vanity, the sons of men! Lies, the sons of men! In a balance they would all rise together, lighter than a breath.
Don't trust in violence, And don't put vain hope in robbery. When riches increase, Do not set your heart on them. Once God spoke; Twice I heard this: That strength is God's. Thine also, O Lord, is goodness. For you repay every man according to his work (Psalms 62:6-13).
A man whose heart is broken is one who is totally dependent on God.
He knows that if God does nothing, he is finished. He knows that unless God builds the house, he who builds it does so in vain: Psalms 127:1. He knows that his plans will totally fail, no matter how small, if the Lord doesn't give them his approval.
On the other hand, if God agrees, even his enemies will be favorable to him: Proverbs 16:7. He doesn't start something without consulting God. And, it's when there's trouble that he cries out to God. In Isaiah 62:6-7, the Word of God declares: "On your walls, Jerusalem, I have set guards; they will not be silent day or night. You who remind the Lord, you shall not rest. And let there be no rest until he restores Jerusalem and makes it glorious on earth".
Broken people are those who night and day give God no rest until he blesses them, until he blesses his people, the Ministry, the Church. A broken man is not passive. He doesn't fold his arms in his weakness. He cries out to God. He doesn't let himself be swayed by the devil, his agents or even past failures. He knows that everything has its time (Ecclesiastes 3:3) and only God changes times and circumstances.
He's someone who perseveres by relying on God and not on himself. Glory be to God!
