The Name

God can change everything!
Generally speaking, a name is an element of identification and demarcation that facilitates interpersonal communication.

Names have a positive or negative impact on a person's life. That's why God has often changed the names of those he loves:
* He changed Abram's name to Abraham (Genesis 17:5)
* He changed Sarai's name to Sarah (Genesis 17:15)
* He changed Jacob's name to Israel (32:28)
* He changed Simon's name to Peter (Luke 6:14; John 1:42).
God, knowing the importance of a name, has often sent angels to reveal the name to give a child:
* The angel revealed the name: And behold, you shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Jesus. de John Luke 1:13
* The angel revealed the name of Jesus: Luke 1:31.

So we shouldn't give our children haphazard names, it's good that we pray and that the name is a dedication to God, a predestination or a prophecy that we make to the child.
Ex. Jesus means savior: he actually saved mankind. If we had given him another name (Bigbak, batobo, Eric, Hamidou), he wouldn't have saved anyone.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
