The End of Days

Zephaniah 2:3: "Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, Who practice his ordinances! Seek justice, seek humility! Perhaps you will be spared in the day of the Lord's wrath."

In this text, the Lord returns to the importance of his day, the end of time, which is the day of his wrath, or the day of punishment reserved for an iniquitous and rebellious people.

The Lord truly wants us to grasp the importance of this terrible day. God is sometimes observant, and above all merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in kindness.

  • He is very patient; his wish was never the punishment of the wicked, but his repentance and his life.
  • He therefore takes care to warn several times and even several centuries before his day.

In the meantime, let the wicked man review his behavior, and therefore his relationship with God and his fellow men. This would be a great help to him and his family.

The Lord wants us to seek justice and humility. Indeed, we seek that which we have lost that was good, that which deserved to be kept because of its great importance, that which is good, useful and advantageous. The righteousness and humility God thinks we've lost enable a good relationship with God and others. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6) According to the Lord, to promote these values is to enable a happy, peaceful, serene, secure life and everything else that contributes to happiness and well-being.

Jesus Christ says in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. That rest is available in Jesus. In Jesus, we have the assurance of not living the terror of that day, the day when God will come to render to each one according to his deeds. Let us cling to God in Christ Jesus.

Bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen!
