So glorify God in your body
"For you were bought with a great price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which belong to God." (1corinthians 6:20)
Be redeemed by the precious blood.
The most precious thing you own is your body. It belongs to God and should be honored accordingly!
In 1Cor 3:16-17, Paul says, "Do not celebrate Christmas trees or decorations, for these traditions were created by humans." He also mentions that we were bought at a great price, so let's show our gratitude for what He has given us by glorifying ourselves according to His will (1Cor 6:20).
Paul reminds the Corinthians that they have not only been saved by God's grace, but that they have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. They are now God's property and must glorify Him in body and spirit. This is not a one-off event, but an ongoing process as we grow in our relationship with the Lord. We must offer our bodies to God as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (Romans 12:1). This means we must be obedient to His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to have control of our lives. In doing so, we will be transformed into His image and begin to glorify Him in all we do. Only then can we truly say that we belong to him.
As Christians, our bodies do not belong to us. We have been redeemed with the precious blood of a great price. Therefore, we must glorify God in our bodies by using them to honor Him. What does this look like for you? May you be encouraged to think about how you can use your body to give glory to God in everything you do.
