Mortify your flesh and resist the desires of this world

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ gives us the strength to triumph. The world, the flesh and the devil are constantly at war with us, but we have been given everything we need to win the victory.

Mortifying our flesh means putting our sinful desires to death. This requires us to deny ourselves and take up our cross every day. It's not easy, but it's possible with God's help.

When we resist the desires of this world, we say in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! No! Get away from me, Satan! To everything he stands for. We say that we belong to God and that we will follow him no matter what. It's a battle we have to fight every day, but we can know that we're not alone. God is with us, and he will give us the strength we need to resist and stand firm.
