So seek love above all else, and long for the manifestations of the Spirit, especially the gift of prophecy (1Corinthians 14:1).

The gift of prophecy is one of the most sought-after gifts of the Spirit. Prophecy is the ability to receive and proclaim messages from God. These messages may concern the future or present situations. Prophets often act as God's spokespeople, proclaiming His word to His people.

Prophecy is a gift that is available to all believers. However, not all believers prophesy. To be able to prophesy, one must be filled with the Holy Spirit. Once a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, he or she can begin to prophesy according to the Spirit's direction. There is no single formula for the manifestation of prophecy. If you seek the gift of prophecy, ask God to fill you with his Spirit. Then wait on the Lord and be open to his guidance. As you follow His leading, you will begin to prophesy according to His perfect will.

The gift of prophecy is a high calling, to be pursued wholeheartedly. When we seek to manifest the Spirit in our lives, we open ourselves to receive all the gifts He has for us.
