In Righteousness and Integrity

Verse of the day!

Today, let's meditate on the wisdom of the Proverb 10:9: "He who walks in integrity walks confidently, but he who takes crooked ways will be found out."

Navigating the straight and narrow seems an unlikely undertaking in a world where corruption reigns. Maintaining one's integrity in a context where virtue seems devoid of value and morality can seem slow, inefficient, even hypothetical. In this age of speed and greed, where get-rich-quick prevails, no matter what the legality, morality and conscience seem to be eclipsed by corruption.

Yet faith in divine justice can resurrect morality and integrity from the rubble of corruption. Those who choose to walk in integrity and righteousness achieve inner peace, even if the road seems slow and doesn't necessarily lead to substantial material gains. On the other hand, those who follow crooked paths will be constantly confronted with the truth. Success will be fleeting and ultimately bitter, as any gain from these uncertain paths will keep the soul in fear of divine judgment and eternal damnation.

My brother, my sister, cling unconditionally to truth, justice and integrity. By divine grace, be imitators of your Lord and Master JESUS CHRIST, in whom no fraud was ever found. Never compromise your morals and ethical conscience under any pretext, even for fear of eventual material poverty or human scorn. Losing inner peace is a far greater evil than losing all the wealth in the world.

Continue to follow the path laid out by the Lord, avoiding any deviation from the indications of the divine way. In this way, your path will be safe from all harmful corruption. Though the wise according to divine wisdom may call you a fool according to the world, persevere in integrity, even when the path of easy gain offers itself to you. You will be approved by those whose judgment is right, and above all, you will be approved by the LORD, the righteous judge.

This morning, let your prayer resound: "LORD, test my ways by your righteousness and justice, approve my path."

My prayer for you is, "May the Lord lead you today in the way of integrity and morality, according to the truth, in the name of JESUS CHRIST!"
