Being patient with God
One of the hardest things to do in life is to wait. It's hard to wait for answers or changes to happen, especially when we feel we can solve our own problems in life.
But here's the reality: when we try to take control of our own lives, we often find ourselves in unexpected and tricky situations. Sometimes, we find ourselves mired in an impossible situation.
Deep down, we may never have intended to find ourselves in these situations, but in trying to control or ignore God's direction for our lives, we make mistakes. We don't have all the knowledge of the future as God alone possesses. We don't have the power to overcome everything that comes our way as only God does.
When we find ourselves faced with unexpected situations, the best thing to do is to go to the Lord and wait for His answer. If we wait patiently for God, it gives Him time to work in our lives as He desires. In this exercise of faith in God, our relationship with Him will also grow stronger.
The psalmist tells us that God delivered him from the mud and placed his feet on a firm, solid rock. God not only saved him from hardship, but also gave him a safe place to endure all storms. Hallelujah!
Take some time today to talk with God. If you're currently in a waiting period, ask God for patience and perseverance. God wants you to put your faith in Him, even as you wait. God is our ultimate help and He is never late. Thank Him for all He has saved you from, and continue to trust Him as you draw closer to Him.
