Mary's role in the Bible

In In Luke 1:26-38, we learn that the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to announce that she would give birth to a son who would become very great. The angel tells her not to be afraid, for she has found favor with God. It's a powerful moment that shows how much God appreciates Mary's faith and willingness to serve him.

Throughout the Bible, we see how important it is for us to trust God, whatever trials we face. In Matthew 1:18-25, we learn that Joseph agreed to take Mary as his wife, even though he knew she was pregnant before they were married. This story highlights Joseph's obedience and trust in God, even when faced with a difficult situation. It also shows us that even when we are faced with difficult decisions, God gives us strength and courage if we are willing to trust him.

The story of the Nativity (Matthew 2:13-23) teaches us about Mary's courage at a time of trial for herself and for her son Jesus Christ. When King Herod ordered the death of all the children of Bethlehem aged two or under, an angel appeared to Joseph and told him to flee with his family to Egypt until it was safe for them to return home (Matthew 2:14). Not only did Mary courageously accept this news, but she trusted that God would protect them on their journey, despite the dangers they might encounter along the way (Matthew 2:13). Through this story, we understand that faith gives us courage, even when faced with seemingly impossible obstacles.

As Christians, understanding our duties through stories like Mary's helps us realize how important it is to follow our faith, whatever challenges life throws at us. We need to remember that if we place our trust in God, he will provide us with strength and guidance, just as he did for Mary during her life on earth.
