The birth of Jesus Christ
For centuries, to this day, people have looked to Jesus Christ as their Savior and Redeemer. Christians believe He was sent into the world to reveal God's all-encompassing grace and love.
Why did God decide to send his only Son into the world?
Let's explore the reasons for the birth of Jesus Christ.
To bring reconciliation between humanity and God
The Bible explains that we are all born with a sinful nature, because our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. When they ate from the forbidden tree, they separated themselves from their Creator, who is perfect in His holiness. As a result, all humanity was separated from God. By what theologians call "the great divide."
However, God had a plan to bridge this gap: he sent his only Son into the world to take on human form and pay the ultimate price for our sins. By dying on the cross, Jesus was able to make a definitive atonement by offering us the opportunity to be reconciled to him through faith in his death and resurrection with us. By accepting this free gift, we can be restored to our relationship with Him.
Revealing God's mercy and compassion
Jesus also came to show us how merciful and compassionate our loving Father is to each and every one of us. He showed us through his ministry how much he cares for us through his healing miracles, his teaching moments, his parables, his acts of service.
Ultimately, He showed us what it looks like when we become more like Him. He taught us that no matter how broken or sinful we feel, there's nothing too difficult for Him to forgive or restore and restore, if we call on Him in repentance. He loves each of us deeply and wants to be part of our lives if we let him in!
Jesus Christ was born both as an act of redemption and as an example of unconditional love and acceptance. Through his life here on Earth, he offered a way back to a right relationship with God, while showing us what it means to live a life devoted to following him.
We can think of him as our Prince of Peace, who reveals not only God's justice but also his grace-filled mercy!
Amen!
