Balance sheet period
The end of a thing is better than its beginning.
As the year draws to a close, it's time to take stock. If today were your last day on earth, what would you say to God? As Father? Mother? As a son? Daughter? Family member? Neighbor? Employee? Employer? Husband ? Wife ?
It's the end of the year, what's your assessment? What do you say about yourself? What do others say about you?
God wants us to end the year in harmony and peace. He expresses this desire in one of the most beloved verses of Scripture: John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
To end this year in Him is God's desire.
He wants you to be at peace. Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you peace."
By believing in Jesus Christ, we can free ourselves from our burdens and find true inner peace.
If we have already accepted Christ, but frequently stray from his path, it is still possible to make a fresh start with a new perspective on life.
God reminds us of this through his words in Isaiah 43:18 - 19: " Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of the past. Behold, I do a new thing; it springs forth now!" With Jesus as our guide, may we all be blessed to end this year filled with his love and grace.
