The Number 40
This blog post is going to be a little different.
I'm going to talk about the number 40 and how it relates to God's greatness. You may be thinking: "What does the number 40 have to do with God's greatness?" Well, stick with me and you'll find out!
The number 40 appears frequently in the Bible, and always seems to signify a period of time. For example, the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years before finally reaching the Promised Land. Moses stayed 40 days and 40 nights on Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from God. And, of course, Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert before beginning his ministry.
So what does all this have to do with God's greatness?
I think the number 40 is significant because it reminds us that, however long it takes, God always keeps his promises. He is faithful even when we are not, and his love for us is eternal.
No matter what we go through in life, we can always trust that God's love for us is eternal and that His faithfulness is everlasting.
He'll never leave us, never forsake us, and he'll always keep his promises, even if it takes a little longer than we'd like.
So let's not be discouraged when things don't happen overnight; rather, let's remember that the greatness of our God is never-ending. Amen!!!
