I know your afflictions and your poverty, and yet you are rich!

I know the calumnies of those who call themselves Jews and who are not, but who are a synagogue of Satan. Do not be afraid of what you will suffer.

I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even unto death, and I will give you life as a victor's crown.

Let those with ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. He who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. Amen! (Revelation 2: 9-11) Jesus Christ knows what we're going through because he's been through it too.

He was put into the crucible - the furnace of adversity - and emerged victorious. It will be the same for us if we remain faithful to him until death.

When we are persecuted, we need to remember that it is only for a little while and that Jesus conquered death so that we can have eternal life with him if we remain faithful.

Let's keep our eyes on Jesus and remember his great love for us, so that we can endure all the trials and tribulations that come our way, knowing that he himself has already conquered them all. Amen to that!

Thank you, Lord, for the trials through which you have led me and which I continue to face for your glory. Thank you also for this new day. Amen!
