La Porte Étroite - The golden rule!
- More from part 1
Failure to follow spiritual laws has a considerable impact on a Christian's daily life. Neglecting these rules and guidelines can lead to many different problems in the personal, family or church life of the person concerned.
The consequences that flow from ignoring what God requires are severe for those who do so: they reap. What does this mean? Quite simply, when we break his commandments, there can be negative effects like theft, among other things, but more importantly, it affects our relationship with him, because after all, without goodness, no one would want anything else!
Neglect of spiritual laws and rules impacts heavily on the Christian's daily life in many ways. The Christian must always strive to live according to spiritual laws and rules, not only for his own good, but also to show others what it means to walk successfully with God.
Enter by the narrow gate, says Jesus: "(Matthew 7:13-14) Enter by the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter by it.
But the door is narrow, the way to life is narrow, and few can find it.
There's no need to be lazy or fearful, hesitant, unresisting or taking the easy way out. The narrow gate is rather faith in Jesus Christ, who gives salvation in place of works, and working for success. The narrow gate implies righteousness.
Amen.
