The Lord's Love
As Christians, we are called to submit to whatever authority is given to us by God. This includes our husbands, wives, employers, pastors and government officials. Why do we do this? Because submission is an act of love. When we submit to those who have authority over us, we show them love and respect. It doesn't mean we always agree with them, or that they're always right. But it does mean that we trust God to work through them for our good and His glory.
The Bible is clear: submission is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. In fact, it takes more strength to submit to someone than to rebel against them. When we submit, we're saying that we trust God and his plan for our lives. We are saying that we are willing to put aside our own desires and plans in order to follow His will for us.
Submission isn't easy. It often goes against our human nature, which wants to do things our own way. But when we submit to those in authority over us, we choose to obey God rather than ourselves. And obedience always leads to blessing.
The next time you're tempted to rebel against authority, remember that submission is an act of love. It takes more strength to submit than to rebel, but obedience always leads to blessing. So ask God for the strength you need to submit wholeheartedly to those He has placed under your authority, for His glory and your good.
