The fruit of the Spirit
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. The Law certainly does not condemn such things." (Galatians 5:22-23)
We've all been called to bear the fruit of the Spirit. What does this look like in our lives? Love, joy and peace are just a few examples of what we can find when we put our trust in what Jesus Christ has done for us. We find patience with one another. We find kindness to others around us. Kindness abounds. Thanksgiving becomes more frequent, because we know how much God loves each person personally. There's no need to think he only cares about those who follow him blindly.
When we put our trust in Jesus Christ, the fruits of the Spirit abound in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are things that the law does not condemn. These are the things we must strive to obtain, accept, and practice every day. When we let Christ work in our lives, we can obtain these fruits.
Christ's love is the greatest love there is, and it fills us with joy. His peace calms our fears and gives us patience. His kindness and goodness show us the way. His faithfulness is endless, and his gentleness is a balm to our souls. By following Christ, we can take control of our lives and be the best version of ourselves. Trusting Christ leads to a life full of fruit.
Are you bearing the fruit of the spirit in your life? If not, why not ask Jesus to help you change that today?
