Silence: A Spiritual Fortress

What is silence?

Silence is not simply the absence of noise. It is a place of refuge, a space of encounter with God, a fortress where our soul can rest and renew itself. The Bible teaches us that silence is precious:
"In tranquility and rest shall be your salvation; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength" (Isaiah 30:15).
Jesus himself often took time to withdraw into solitude and silence to pray and recharge his batteries (Luke 5:16). If the Son of God needed it, how much more do we!

"Even a fool, when he is silent, passes for wise; he who shuts his lips is an intelligent man."

The Bible declares:
"Stop, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).
This verse invites us to slow down and trust God, rather than worry and fret in vain.

God's love is an infinite source of healing. Silence allows us to experience this love in a profound way. Psalm 147:3 says:
"He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
When we choose to be silent instead of reacting to pain or injustice, we allow God to act. He gives us the strength to forgive and overcome.
