Morning Light - Serve the Lord with fear
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. (Psalms 2:11)
When we serve the Lord with awe, it means we respect him. And that we are impressed, by who he is. This kind of respect is not born from a place of terror, but rather, from a place of wonder and awe.
To rejoice in trembling is to be filled with joy even as we remember our mortality. It's dancing in the face of death, knowing that our hope is in the Lord.
Psalms 2:11 reminds us that serving the Lord is not a burden, but an act of worship. When we come to him with humility and an open heart, he fills us with his grace and peace.
Let us pray: Glory be to you, O Lord, for it is your will that we serve you eagerly. Thank you, for this new day you are arranging for me, in Jesus' name. Amen!
