May it not be my will

In Luke 22:39-41we learn that Jesus went to the Mount of Olives and told his disciples to pray that they would not give in to temptation. He knew that temptations were coming, and he wanted them to be prepared and protected.

After this, Jesus moved "a stone's throw" away from them and knelt down in prayer, asking his Father to remove this cup, but ultimately submitting to the Father's will, "not my will, but yours be done." This is an incredibly profound moment in the Christian faith, and an example of unshakeable faith.

As Christians, we can take this episode as a reminder to always put our faith before anything else, no matter how difficult or uncertain the outcome. For non-believers who want proof of God's presence in our lives, there are many real-life stories involving the submission of our own wills to His.

- when we surrender ourselves to the realization of his plan, that's when we see God's miracles happen.

Amen!
