How much do we weigh?
Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; but do no harm to the oil and the wine.
God weighed us and we were found to be light, just as those who thought they weighed more are light in His scales. It doesn't matter how many sins there are, or how good they are; every transgression is a sin. We are sinners for every act of disobedience we commit, and we deserve the punishment of the lake of fire. Rather, it will be an interpellation now, for in the time of grace we can still work for our forgiveness and election. "Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
In this text, we're talking about oil and wine, both of which should be protected from harm. In the Bible, oil has often referred to the Holy Spirit, and wine to the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross. To be anointed with oil is also a sign of election, of having been identified and set apart by God for. To be clothed with the Holy Spirit and covered with the blood of the Lamb of God is essential for going to heaven. God will spare every soul who is washed in the blood of Jesus and those who are marked with the seal of the Spirit. We are in the Brethren Church for our salvation (Revelation 7:3, Rom. 4:11).
1Cor 6:19-20 says that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit, that you were bought with a great price, the blood of Jesus Christ, that is your value in the name of Jesus Christ.
May the Lord Jesus Christ shower you with his grace.
Amen!
