Convert to Live
"For I do not desire the death of him who dies, says the Lord, the LORD. Convert - therefore, and live." (Ezekiel 18:32).
The Lord is the Holy God. He says that no filth will enter his kingdom. Gehenna is the destiny of all injustice. All defilements have their eternity in the lake of fire and brimstone. God foresees, however, a perfect world in heaven, which is his own kingdom with his redeemed.
God also shows that when a man is cursed, he is cursed along with his offspring for up to a thousand generations. A father's curse also affects his descendants. An entire generation is thus deprived of happiness. This is known as an ancestral curse. It happens in many families. But there's another tender revelation. If a son turns to the Lord and does not follow in his father's footsteps, he is spared ancestral punishment and death (Ezekiel 18:14-18).
Life in Christ spares us the family curse, and offers us a much different and better life. So, even if the parent has brought about the downfall of the whole family, because of his iniquities, the sons can be spared, if they convert to Christ. God's will is certainly not that men should die, but that they should change their ways and live. "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your family will be saved. Says the Bible, (Acts 16:31).
