Christian safety

As Christians, we are called to live with assurance and security in the knowledge that we are loved and protected by God. However, we face many fears and doubts, whether regarding our physical, emotional or spiritual security. In this text, we'll explore how we can live more securely as Christians, and how our faith can help us overcome our fears.

1. Find security in God's word

The first step to finding security as a Christian is to turn to God's word. In the Bible, God repeatedly reminds us that he is our protector and our refuge. We can find assurance in these verses, as in Psalm 91:2: "I said to the Lord, You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust." We need to take time to meditate on these verses and remember that God is always with us, no matter what's going on in our lives.

2. Pray for protection

Another way to find security as a Christian is to pray for protection. In Matthew 6:13, Jesus teaches us to pray: "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." By praying for protection, we show our trust in God and our desire to let Him take care of us. Remember that God always listens to our prayers.

3. Surround yourself with people who support you

As Christians, it's important to surround ourselves with people who share our faith and are there to support us. When we feel secure with our community, we are stronger to face trials and fears. We should seek out people who encourage us in our faith and help us grow spiritually.

4. Seek professional help if necessary

If you're facing fears or safety issues that are too difficult to overcome on your own, don't hesitate to seek professional help. It's important not to be ashamed of asking for help, and to seek out the resources you need to overcome your difficulties. Mental health professionals can help you work through your fears and find ways to live with greater security and confidence.

5. Trust in God

Ultimately, the key to living securely and confidently as a Christian is to trust God. No matter what we're going through in life, we can find refuge in Him. As it is written in Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be anxious, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my triumphant right hand."

As Christians, we can find security by relying on God's word, praying for protection, surrounding ourselves with supportive people, seeking professional help if necessary and trusting God.

We are never alone if we put our faith in Him. Let us remember that we are heirs of God and that, believing in Him, we will reign on earth with Christ.

Amen!
