How do you see yourself?

What image do you have of yourself? As long as you are filled with your own righteousness, you remain in the grip of sin.

You harbor a serpent in your bosom, who will breathe on your piety and deal a mortal blow to your soul. Examine every day, with severe exactitude, what is the foundation of your hope. Was it laid by the hand of Jesus Christ himself? Otherwise, your edifice will never withstand the storm that will burst upon it. The enemy will undermine it and topple it from top to bottom. So you're still in the grip of sin and subject to its deadly effects.

Only Christ can give you true righteousness, and only his righteousness can save you from the destruction of sin. Don't wait until it's too late to examine the foundation of your hope. Make sure that Christ himself is the foundation, and everything else will fall into place.

We all have a tendency to become spiritually proud and forget that we are sinners in need of a Savior. It's so important that we examine our hearts, motivations and actions daily to make sure that Christ is the foundation of our hope. When we do this, it enables us to reflect His image more faithfully and live our faith authentically.

What image do you have of yourself? Have you taken the time recently to examine your heart and uproot all your spiritual sins?
