Establishing justice through faith in Jesus Christ
Righteousness is a fundamental element of the Christian faith. It's important for believers to cultivate and maintain uprightness of heart and mind in order to live their lives as good stewards of God's grace. But how can we do this? How can we establish righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ? Let's examine this question in more detail.
What is justice?
The Bible defines righteousness as God's standard of morality, justice and holiness. It's not something we can achieve on our own, it has to come from God himself. This means that it cannot be achieved by our own merits or efforts, but through faith in Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself so that we could have access to his righteousness.
How can we establish justice through faith?
Establishing righteousness by faith begins with recognizing Jesus as Lord and Savior. Once we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior, we are then able to accept His grace and mercy into our lives. We receive this grace as a free gift from Him; it doesn't depend on us or what we do or don't do to be saved. Our faith enables us to accept the gift of His grace more fully, establishing our own personal relationship with Him, a relationship rooted in trust, love, forgiveness and hope.
As well as accepting his grace into our lives, establishing righteousness by faith also requires us to put the teachings of Jesus Christ into practice in our daily lives. We must strive to imitate his example and put into practice the things he taught us to lead a righteous life (such as loving our neighbor as ourselves). We should also strive to achieve holiness - to be more like him every day - by prayerfully studying the Scriptures and intentionally thinking about how we can better serve God's purpose for us here on earth.
Establishing righteousness by faith may not always be easy, but it's certainly worth it! When done correctly, it brings joy, peace and fulfillment into our lives while enabling us to live out the commandment Jesus gave us, to love one another as he has loved us (John 13:34-35).
By trusting Jesus Christ and striving daily for holiness through prayerful study of Scripture and intentional reflection on how we can better serve God's purpose for us here on earth, we will truly find true righteousness within ourselves, a righteousness that comes only from Him!
Glory to God!
