Discovering Your Destiny
Destiny is God's plan for us. Destiny is not something we create, but something we discover.
1. Our life begins before we come into this world
"The word of the Lord came to me in these words: before I formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you, and before you came out of her womb, I had consecrated you, and appointed you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:4-5). God's omniscience allows him to know our future in advance. God in his sovereignty prepared a plan for us before we came into this world.
2. Run on God's lanes
"Blessed are those who place their trust in you! They find in their hearts paths made straight" (Ps. 84:5).
God has marked out corridors for each of us. In sending us into this world, He has endowed us with gifts and talents.
- Talents are abilities that the Lord grants us from our natural birth.
- Gifts are abilities that the Lord gives us at our new birth.
- Acquired skills include all the competencies we develop along the way.
All these abilities, whether spiritual or natural, enable us to fulfill our potential. So let's discover what God has deposited in us, and put these gifts to work in our world. By doing so, you'll understand that this is what you were created for. You won't become a photocopy by imitating others; on the contrary, you'll do things with ease and spontaneity. Because of the services you render, you'll be rewarded in many ways.
4. Get involved
Once you've discovered your area of interest, get involved! Don't wait for the whistle to blow to get started. All the patriarch Noah had to do was hear God's voice telling him to build the ark, and he was ready to go. God didn't give him a spike, a hammer, a plank or a saw. But he still managed to build this great boat. We must cross our arms and wait for God's plan to come to fruition in our lives. Let's stand up and take action!
