Following the example of the people of Israel
(Exodus 16:4)
The Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread for you from heaven. The people shall go out and gather it, day by day, as much as they need, so that I may test them and see whether or not they will walk according to My Law."
God had said he would rain bread from heaven. Yet the children of Israel had to make an effort every day to get their daily bread. More interesting is the fact that the Bible further states: God was testing the Israelites to see if they would make that effort each day to gather their heavenly bread, whether they would walk in His Law or not. What effort are you making? Is it a daily effort?
(John 6:35)
Jesus said to them, "I am the Bread of life. Whoever comes to Me shall never hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst.
If you want life, and I mean real life, you have to choose life.
(Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
"I take heaven and earth as witness against you today: I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants; to love the Lord your God, to obey His voice, and to cleave to Him, for on this depends your life and the length of your days, and so you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
(John 14:6)" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Have you been saturated with the things of life and fasting about your relationship with the Lord? I suggest you end that fast and start eating the Bread from Heaven, which is Jesus Christ. Take pleasure in being saturated by Him and of Him. Decide today to make the effort and gather your daily bread. My prayer is that you will determine, and conquer whatever it is you need to conquer, to spend time in the company of your Lord. May He personally reveal Himself to you in renewed ways that can saturate you like never before, so that you come to develop a passionate relationship with Him, to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Amen.
(Hebrews 11:6b)
"...He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
