It’s easy to get distracted in today’s world. Busyness is a modern-day affliction that many of us suffer from. Rest is its opposite and one of the things the Lord came to offer. In (Matthew 11:28–30), He said:

(Matthew 11:28-30)

«Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.»

Jesus Christ is the only one who can give rest to our souls. If your soul is in turmoil, if your soul is weary, exhausted, and burdened, then you’re reading the right passage. JESUS came to give you rest! You won’t find rest when your children grow up. Or when you get married. Or when your bank account grows. YOU WILL FIND REST ONLY WHEN YOU MEET JESUS. ONLY IF YOU PLACE YOUR BURDENS IN HIS HANDS AND TAKE UP HIS YOKE, WHICH IS GENTLE AND LIGHT, ONLY THEN WILL YOU FIND REST. As the Word says in Philippians:

(Philippians 4:6-7) Don’t worry about anything! YES, nothing at all! Your children, your work, your health, your sorrows, your finances, and your other concerns are all included here. Nothing is excluded from this statement. There is nothing that should cause us anxiety. And the verse goes even further to tell us what to do instead of worrying: «But in everything, through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.» ” PEACE!!! To obtain peace, you don’t have to finish this or that project or receive a blessing for this or that thing—but don’t worry about anything and cast all your anxieties on the Lord through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving! It is HIS business to TAKE CARE of you, while you rest in Him. And as you rest in Him, you are recharged with power! Let’s see what He says in (Isaiah 30:15):

«For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: »IN TRANQUILITY AND REST IS YOUR SALVATION; IN CALM AND CONFIDENCE IS YOUR STRENGTH.’”

Our strength lies in REST in the Lord. In calm and trust! That’s what I call the RRQC Club: Return, Rest, Tranquility, and Trust in God. When we consider stillness, for example, we can see its importance in the life of Jesus: He would get up very early in the morning and go out into the desert alone to pray (Mark 1:35)! He needed to remain in stillness in the Father’s presence. We need that, too! We don’t need to fill our schedules with a hundred activities to sustain ourselves. We won’t find strength in activities, but only in calmness and trust in God. It is when our hearts are peaceful and filled with trust that the Lord can be heard through that channel.

Returning to Isaiah in verse 16 we find the people's response before God's lament for return, rest, quietude and confidence, and the Lord's respective response:

(Isaiah 30:16) These people had their own plans for how to get by. You can have your own. You can also say, «No, for …» You can try to work hard and take care of yourself all day long. Do you realize the cost? Weakness, fear, anxiety, failure. The more you rely on your own «driving forces,» the weaker and more drained you’ll become. The only way to gain strength, life, and rest is to rest in the Lord. Be at peace and trust in Him. Don’t worry about anything, and cast all your cares upon Him. That is the ONLY way!

(Jeremiah 6:16-17) «The Old Paths.» Return to the OLD PATHS. “Walk in the old, well-trodden paths, and you will find rest,” says our God. Return, Rest, Peace, and Trust in God. Join the RRQC club today. Jesus is the Guide, and He will give you REST and peace. Joining costs nothing—except letting go of your worries! You must all cast your cares upon God, and peace will be given to you. Which do you prefer: busyness and distraction, or rest and peace? Drought and weakness, or prosperity and strength? Death or life? It really is that critical. The issue of rest in the Lord is indeed a spiritual battle! A battle between prosperity and drought. As (Psalm 37:7) tells us again:

«BE SILENT BEFORE THE LORD, AND TRUST IN HIM»

Let us wait patiently for the Lord and rest in Him! Let us NEVER let a foreign seed arise in our garden to touch our tree of barrenness.

[24

post-543","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-enseignements-biblique

«DO NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING, THROUGH PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, MAKE YOUR REQUESTS KNOWN TO GOD, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.»

«You said, «No, we’ll flee on horseback!»—That is why you will flee on horseback!—We will ride on swift steeds!»—That is why those who pursue you will be swift. A thousand will flee at the threat of one, and at the threat of five, you will flee, until you are left like a signal on the top of a mountain and like a banner on a hill.”

As we delve deeper into our topic, let’s now turn to (Jeremiah 6:16–17). In a tone similar to that of Isaiah, (Jeremiah 6:16–17) tells us:
(Jeremiah 6:16–17)

«Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads, look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls. But they reply, »We will not walk in it.’ ‘I have set watchmen over you; listen for the sound of the trumpet!’ But they reply, ‘We will not listen.’”
