Whether we are rejected for who we are or for our actions, it hurts. We all long to be accepted by others, and when we aren\u2019t, it\u2019s painful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Mark 12:10, Jesus quotes Psalm 118:22: \u00abHaven\u2019t you read this passage of Scripture: \u00bbThe stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone\u2026\u2019?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In ancient constructions, builders carefully sought out the stone that would become the cornerstone, the one that would determine the stability of the foundation of the entire structure. Ironically, the stone rejected by the builders became the most important.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus experienced rejection. But here\u2019s the good news: rejection doesn\u2019t have the last word. That wasn\u2019t the case for Jesus, and the same is true for us.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus, who was rejected by the world, has become the foundation of God\u2019s kingdom. Therefore, because he is the cornerstone, we need not fear rejection. In him we find acceptance.
