It is a state granted by God because of our relationship with Him. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are justified before God and become holy in Him. However, this does not mean that we are freed from the responsibility to live in holiness. In fact, the Bible continually exhorts us to live in holiness by maintaining a close relationship with God.<\/p>\n The consequence of our call to holiness is that we are called to be different from other people. We must have a way of life that reflects our relationship with God. This may seem difficult, especially in a world where it's easy to give in to temptation and sin.
