Grieving the loss of a loved one can be difficult and overwhelming. Even as Christians, we may struggle to find peace during our time of mourning. Fortunately, we can turn to the Lord for comfort and strength during the darkest days. Here are three ways to lean on Jesus Christ as we grieve.<\/p>\nTurn to God's Word for guidance<\/strong> Grief can often leave us feeling hopeless, but as Christians, we know that Jesus loves us and will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Lean on Him in difficult times, knowing that He offers you hope beyond this world and abundant grace for each day (2 Corinthians 9:8). \nGod\u2019s Word is a source of great comfort and guidance, even in times of grief. When we turn to Scripture, we can find comfort in the promises of His goodness and faithfulness. We can also find comfort in verses that speak of the hope of heaven, such as 1 Thessalonians 4:13\u201314, which says: \u00abI do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be ignorant about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.\u00bb<\/strong> When our hearts are heavy with sorrow, it is good to remember that there is still hope in God\u2019s promises.\nAsk for strength from above<\/strong>
\nWhen we are grieving, it\u2019s easy to feel helpless and overwhelmed by sadness. In these dark moments, it\u2019s important to ask for strength from above. 2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us: \u00abHe said to me, \u00bbMy grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.\u2019\u201d<\/strong> Jesus promises that when we are weak, he will be strong for us and carry us through difficult times. Resting on him gives us a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).\nTrusting in the Lord's time<\/strong>
\nIt can be hard to understand why bad things happen or why God allows certain things in our lives. Trying to understand the Lord's timing can lead us to feel frustrated or even angry with God, but the Psalm 37:5 says, \u00abCommit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.\u00bb<\/strong> We must remember that everything happens according to His plan and that His timing is always perfect (Proverbs 16:9). Instead of wondering why things happen the way they do, we should put our trust in the Lord. He brings us comfort in the knowledge that He has a purpose behind everything (Isaiah 55:8\u20139).\n
