Fear as \u00aban unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n As Christians, we are not immune to fear. We experience it just like everyone else. The difference lies in how we deal with it. When we face our fears head-on and confront them with the truth of who God is, we can overcome them. Here are three ways to do that.<\/p>\n1. Recognize your fear<\/strong> Don't let fear stop you from living the life God has called you to live!<\/strong> Acknowledge your fears, confront them with the truth of who God is, and take action despite them. \nThe first step to overcoming your fear is to acknowledge that you\u2019re afraid. It\u2019s normal to be afraid. You\u2019re not weak or any less of a Christian because you\u2019re afraid. In fact, acknowledging your fear is a sign of strength. It takes courage to admit that you\u2019re afraid. But once you\u2019ve done that, you can start dealing with your fear in a healthy way.\n2. Confront your fear with the truth of who God is<\/strong>
\nOnce you\u2019ve acknowledged your fear, it\u2019s time to confront it with the truth of who God is. As you meditate on Scripture and spend time in prayer, getting to know God and seeking to know Him better. You\u2019ll begin to see things from God\u2019s perspective. And when you see things from His perspective, your fears will begin to fade away. Why? Because you\u2019ll realize there\u2019s no reason to be afraid when God is in control! He is sovereign and good. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).<\/strong> So trust him!\n3. Act in spite of your fear<\/strong>
\nThe final step in overcoming your fear is to take action despite it. This doesn\u2019t mean your fear will disappear completely. But it does mean you\u2019ll be able to move forward even when you\u2019re afraid. When you take action\u2014even in small steps\u2014to achieve your goals, you\u2019ll begin to see that there\u2019s no reason to be afraid after all! And as you continue to take courageous steps forward, your fear will gradually fade until it disappears completely.\n
